One of my absolute favorite places to photograph families in the Spring is Tryon Palace. The gardens are stunning year round, but those tulips that bloom in late March and into April? Pure perfection. Rows of vibrant color create the dreamiest backdrop for family and senior portraits.

If beautiful wooded trails are more your style, I highly recommend New Bern Civil War Battlefield Park. The landscaped trails and that large wooden bridge make for such timeless, natural images.

Love an open grassy field with flowing grass and wide skies? Martin Marietta Park gives us that soft, airy feel that works beautifully with spring colors. There are so many gorgeous spots right here in Craven County for your photo session.

And if you are dreaming of coastal vibes, I do travel to the coast. There is a lovely section of Fort Macon State Park that is tucked away from the beach goers, with large sand dunes and the sound of the ocean as your backdrop. It is peaceful, scenic, and absolutely stunning.

No matter where you choose for your session, keep the location in mind when selecting your outfit colors. Soft pastels look incredible in gardens, earthy tones shine in wooded trails, and light neutrals glow beautifully at the beach.
